Chennai: A Personal Assistant of Tamil Nadu’s Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan was allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday but was released later on by his abductors, following which a probe has been launched.

Police said Karnan was abducted at knifepoint by four persons from Udumalai in Tiruppur district.

After Karnan was driven off in a car by his abductors, police launched a probe and began vehicle-checking drive. Later, the abductors dropped Karan a few km from his office and sped away.

As per a report by TNM, the four abductors were caught on camera. The CCTV footage from outside Karnan’s house shows a car pulling up, after which a young man, whose face was covered with cloth, is seen walking towards the door and waiting. Three more masked men are seen rushing out of the house with the PA at knifepoint. They were then seen forcing Karnan into the car as he resisted.

The Tiruppur police is questioning Karnan to get clues about the incident.
