Patna: Condoling the martyrdom of the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), the staff and prisoners of Gopalganj Sub-Divisional Jail have donated Rs. 50000 collectively, towards the families of over 45 ‘brave hearts’.
The specialty is that the 250 prisoners have signed a letter stating that they are ready to serve the border and have sent the same to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
They have gone a step ahead and said that they would be ‘fortunate’ enough to lay down their lives for the motherland and if they would survive in operations, they would return back to the same prison.
However, jail Superintendent Sandeep Kumar has clarified that there is no such provision made under the law for the prisoners to serve beyond four walls.
The jail authority is happy to see such a reform in the prisoners and have lauded the approach.
Sandeep Kumar has said that the prisoners earned roughly about Rs. 3500 by growing vegetables and flowers.
