Hyderabad: Telangana Adilabad’s Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Soyam Bapu Rao has been accused of threatening that the Muslim youths would be beheaded if they stalked tribal girls. A video of his statement has gone viral on social media, following which a group of minority community has sought action against the Adilabad MP.
Soyam Bapu Rao, in the video, is heard saying that if Muslim youths stalked Adivasi girls, they would be beheaded. He is also heard asking the minority youth of Adilabad district not to go behind tribal girls.
However, the police have told PTI that there was no clarity in the video on where and when Rao made such comments. PTI has quoted K Mohan, ASP of Adilabad, as saying “We are seeking legal opinion and proceeding accordingly. We don’t know when and where he made such comments. Nobody has lodged any complaint also so far.”
Soyam Bapu Rao was elected to the Lok Sabha from Adilabad in the 2019 Lok Sabha election after won securing 377374 votes.
