New Delhi: In a shocker of an incident, a mother poured petrol over her six-year-old daughter while protesting against the Unnao rape incident outside the Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday, December 7.
The incident quickly attracted the attention of police personnel who had been deployed outside the hospital to control the protestors. The girl was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police took the mother into custody.
It can be recalled that the Unnao rape victim was set ablaze by her alleged rapists while she was on the way to attend a court hearing of her case on Thursday, December 5.
As she suffered extreme burns, the victim was airlifted from the SMC Government Hospital in Lucknow to Safdarjung Hospital in the nation’s capital.
The 23-year-old breathed her last on Friday, December 6 at around 11:40 pm.
