Puducherry: Retired IPS officer and Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi was hilariously trolled after she posted a fake NASA recording of the Sun on social media. Titled “NASA Recorded Video of Sun Chanting Om”, the doctored video falsely suggests that the American space administration had captured sounds emanating from the Sun’s surface which resembled the Hindu religious chant ‘Om Shanti Om’.
However, a quick Google search proves that this could not be further from the truth as NASA has released actual videos of what the Sun sounds like on Youtube. The solar sounds resemble more of a low pulsing hum indicating huge flowing rivers of solar material, according to NASA.
After Bedi posted the video on Twitter, netizens wasted no time in correcting her as the fake video has been making the rounds among Indian Whatsapp users for quite some time now.
Twitter user Roshan Rai commented, “When you are a former IPS officer, a Lieutenant governor but also a big fan of Koi Mil gaya,” while another handle trolled Bedi by tweeting, “If she can clear the UPSC exam then even you can. What’s your excuse?”
Soon after the fake video was posted, #NASA and #Kiranbedi were trending topics amongst the Indian Twitterati.
