Patna: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has been fielded against incumbent MP Shatrughan Sinha from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency as Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, resting all speculations.
A four-time Rajya Sabha MP, Ravi Shankar Prasad will be contesting in the Lok Sabha elections for the first time.
Shatrughan Sinha has more enemies than friends in BJP for his comments against Narendra Modi. Even though he continues in the BJP, he is considered a non-existent entity.
Both Prasad and Sinha were union ministers in Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government and were mentored by L K Advani.
Ravi Shankar Prasad is a senior lawyer from Patna and son of Thakur Prasad, former finance minister of Bihar. Ravi Shankar Prasad was nominated to the Rajya Sabha from Bihar in the year 2000. He was later inducted into Vajpayee’s cabinet as a minister.
