IG Anand Prakash Badola is new Commander Coast Guard region (West)

Mumbai: Inspector General Anand Prakash Badola took over as Commander Coast Guard Region (West) at Mumbai, on Monday, December 9.

Inspector General Badola was given a guard of honour on his arrival at the Coast Guard headquarters Worli, Mumbai.

He inspected the parade thereafter and proceeded for the handing/taking over formalities accompanied by ADG VD Chafekar.

Inspector General Badola is an alumnus of US Staff college. Prior to taking over as COMCG(W), he was holding the appointment of Chief of Staff (Western Seaboard) Mumbai.

The Flag Officer, during his illustrious career spanning over almost 30 years, has commanded all classes of ICG Ships.

The important staff appointments undertaken by him include Principal Director (Administration) at CGHQ, Commanding Officer Coast Guard Station (Delhi) and Regional Operations and plans Officer at Headquarters, Coast Guard Region (West) and Headquarters, Coast Guard Region (A&N).

He has been commended by the DGICG twice and also by the CINCAN.

After being elevated to the flag rank of Inspector General, the officer was appointed as Chief of Staff, Headquarters Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard) on May 18, 2017.

He hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand and holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry. He is happily married and is blessed with two sons.
