Hubbali: Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and former chief minister Jagadish Shettar has accused Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of corruption here on Sunday, April 28. He has alleged that the handing over of government projects to the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) is against the law.
Speaking to the media, Shettar said that it was illegal for the state government to hand over their developmental projects to the KRIDL and said that he would urge the Election Commission to take stringent action against CM HDK for the same.
“It is nothing but a big scam by the Congress and Janata Dal (S) state coalition government. By handing over development projects worth Rs 4,200 cr to the KRIDL, they have gone against the law as the election model code of conduct is still active. There must not be any transaction or government projects at this point in time unless it is very important,” he said and added that he would write a letter to the Election Commission in this regard.
Shettar also alleged that the Managing Director of KRIDL, Venkatesh is a close associate of CM HDK and JDS Supremo H D Devegowda.
“During the election campaign, CM HDK took money from all the contractors in exchange of fulfilling their future needs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shettar has warned of a massive protest against the coalition government if the EC fails to implement legal action in this matter.
