Hubballi: Keeping in mind the increasing demand for the Lithium-ion batteries which are widely used in the electric vehicles and smart phones, the state government decided to permit two battery production factories in Hubballi and Chikkaballapur.
An announcement in this regard was made by DCM CN Ashwathnarayan.
His statement gained importance after announcement by EV giant Tesla on its India entry.
Participating in a rally of electric vehicles, he stated that soon the state will start a battery renting system. “The EVs are the future. The state is committed to support the sector,” he stated.
