Hubbali: The election officials have seized unaccounted cash of Rs 30 Lakhs at Agadi Checkpost here on Monday, May 6 evening.
The officials had actually hit on Rs 42 Lakhs at the Agadi Checkpost, installed in the wake of Kundagol Assembly by-election.
According to an official, when the person who was transporting the unaccounted cash was asked to show the documents, he was only able to produce one for Rs 12 Lakhs. Hence, the officers had seized the remaining Rs 30 Lakhs.
It is also known that the money is related to Axis Bank.
The election officers have confirmed that later, the documents for Rs 30 Lakhs were also produced.
Even though the necessary documents were produced, to get back the money, the person concerned must file a plea with the Chief Election Officer (CEO).
