Hubbali: State Revenue Minister R V Deshpande has said that a Congress candidate will not be chosen based on religion, here on Monday, April 1.
“Congress will not issue ticket based on religion or community”, Deshpande said.
Minister of State for Mines and Geology, Vinay Kulkarni who had accompanied R V Deshapnde in the Hubbali Airport said that he was definitely expecting a ticket from the party. He said that he was not the only one facing the election and that it was every party worker’s duty to work in unity.
He was confident that the party would definitely give him the ticket to contest from the Dharwad Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile, Deshpande said the party will announce the Dharwad Lok Sabha candidate by today evening.
He said that there were minor confusions regarding finalising the candidature and that it would be sorted out soon.
