Washington D.C: People who normally read magazines, especially the lifestyle genre, often tend to follow it, be it the celebrities’ diet plan, wardrobe and many more. Similarly, a study published in the Journal of Women’s Health, the researchers have found out that women often believe in safely pushing forward the reproductive age by reading the life of celebrities.
The findings in the study reveals that, often the lifestyle magazines portray and project pregnant celebrities who are older and that the write-up doesn’t mention about the risks of advancing the age of pregnancy. It says that they also fail to mention the technologies involved in it.
The study has said that in 416 magazine issues considered as samples, only one-third of it had thrown light on its covers on the aged-reproductive women. These covers included 240 celebrities from varied industries.
According to the Journal of Women’s Health, only two magazine editions had mentioned about the risk associated with aged pregnancy. The study mentions that the articles related to celebrities aged 40 years or more, who were pregnant, had minimal or absolutely no mention of the technologies that they adopted or the donors concerned.
Managing Director and Editor–in–Chief of Journal of Women’s Health Susan, G Kornstein said that prominent magazine covers had potential of grabbing the eye balls by publishing on happily pregnant celebrities in their late 30s and 40s. She says that such magazines influence women to decide on late reproductive life.
Susan also said that the technological advancements, apt measures and risks often go unsaid.
