6 Ways to lose weight at home

Losing weight can be a long and expensive process. Investment of weight loss belts, gym subscriptions, etc. can prove to be an expensive process. However, weight loss doesn’t have to be a long and painful process. It can also be fun and easy! You can lose weight efficiently at home. Here are – ways to lose weight at home:

  1. Cut Down on Carbs: Instead of going on expensive protein diets, you can lose weight easily by simply reducing carbs. Fill your meals with fruits, leafy greens, pulses, and eggs. This will help you cut down on carbs as well as keep you full. It has been suggested that starving is not only a healthy way to lose weight but also does not assure sustained weight loss.
  2. Get a Jump Start on the Cardio: Cardio is an extremely efficient way to lost weight. Exercise can be boring and time-consuming. If you are someone who cannot afford to get a gym subscription or spend too much time to do an organized workout, you can get a treadmill on rent or get a cross-trainer on rent for less than 2000 rupees a month. You can work out on these machines while doing other things like listening to the news or watching television. Moreover, the rain outside or the heat outside can longer be an excuse for bunking a workout!
  3. Stay Hydrated: Water is one of the easiest solutions to losing weight. Something so simple can take you a long way. Studies suggest that drinking around 17 oz of water can facilitate weight loss by increasing the number of calories you would normally burn by 20 percent. It is also very helpful to substitute other beverages with water. If you are trying to lose weight, replace a cold soda with cold water on a hot day.
  4. Eat Slowly: Sometimes, it isn’t even about what you eat but how you eat. Half of the digestion happens in the mouth. Eating very fast results in the consumption of more calories because you do not allow your body to tell you when it is full. Chewing your food thoroughly helps secrete certain hormones that are essential for weight loss. 
  5. Use Smaller Plates: Using smaller plates is one of the oldest methods in the book. When you use smaller crockery, you immediately reduce the normal portion size thereby consuming fewer calories. This is more of a deception method than what is in the food.
  6. Reduce intake of addictive substances: While trying to lose weight, it is important to reduce the intake of addictive substances like sugar and alcohol. Minimizing sugar and alcohol not only facilitates weight loss but also improves your overall health. Try to have your daily coffee without sugar and cut down drastically on soft drinks and other high-sugar juices. Healthier sweet alternatives could be honey.

Alcoholic beverages contain excessive amounts of sugar and calories. If you absolutely must drink, switch to clear liquids like vodka or gin and have them water instead of soda, as they have lesser calories than dark liquors.
