UTK lashes out at Centre for privatising government-owned companies

Hassan: MLA U T Khader has lambasted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Government for privatizing government-owned companies.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, February 8, he said, “In order to quash the reservation policy granted by the Indian Constitution, the Centre has decided to privatize government-owned companies like LIC, BPCL, BMIL and others. Is selling the shares of government-owned companies to private firms a sign of ‘patriotism’? What the government is doing is like pledging the mangalsutra of a woman when the family faces a financial crisis. This is the fate of the LIC. This is not ethical.”

Giving a call to all the youth of the country, UTK said, “These matters must be taken up seriously by the youth. They must understand the crux of the issue and protest against such decisions or else the dream of making India a superpower will not come true. Taking things emotionally will not help in any way.”

Meanwhile, he criticized 25 of the 27 BJP MPs from Karnataka for not raising their voice against the major issues concerning the state
