Hassan: Over 80 people fell ill in Ibbidu village of the Hassan taluk in Hassan district late on Sunday night.
According to the Belur taluk hospital doctor Narasegowda, people started arriving in a huge number with complaints of stomach ache, diarrhea, and low BP. Additonal medical personnel were called in to treat the sick.
According to sources, the people rushed to the hospital in trucks, autos and cars fearing that their health may deteriorate. Doctors said that the mass illness was caused by food poisoing. All are recovering now.
As per the Unlock 3.0 guidelines, a cap of 50 guests has been fixed for all marriages. But here villagers flouted the rule.
