kalaburagi jatra 16042020Kalaburagi: It has been alleged that a Jatra Mahotsava was held in the Kalaburagi district, on Thursday, April 16 morning, violating the lockdown guidelines as a result.

Reportedly, over 200 people partook in the jatra in the Ravur village of the Chittapur taluk as part of the annual festival of Lord Siddalingeshwara.

It can be noted that Kalaburagi is one of the 170 COVID-19 hotspot districts in the country. This is also the district that reported the first ever COVID-19 death in the country.

Section 144 of the CrPC has been enforced in the district and all types of Jatra Mahotsava, Urus, and other public functions have been banned by the district administration.
