Kalaburgi: Former MLA and BJP senior leader Valmiki Nayaka (72) passed away here due to a heart attack on Friday, March 19.
He was one time MLA after defeating Priyank Kharge in the 2009 bi-elections from the Chittapur constituency of Kalaburagi district. Despite losing the next two elections he was politically very active. It can be recalled here that recently he had urged CM Yediyurappa to give some position by appointing him to at least some commission or corporation.
Nayaka is bereaved by his wife Sona bai, two sons, and four daughters. His funeral rights will be held at Wadi on Saturday, March 20.
