Kalaburagi: Eight people from Kalaburagi and five others tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, May 16 evening. This brings the state’s total up to 1092.
Earlier in the day, 23 people tested positive for the disease, most of whom are from Bengaluru Urban.
Of the 13 people who tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday evening, eight are from Kalaburagi, three are from Shivamogga and one each from Vijayapur and Hassan.
Six of the eight people from Kalaburagi are contacts of Patient 848, one is a contact of Patient 927 and one has an inter-state travel history to Mumbai.
All three people from Shivamogga who tested positive for the disease have inter-state travel history to Mumbai.
The case from Vijayapura is a four-month-old baby girl who is a contact of Patient 594.
The case from Hassan is an 18-year-old boy who has inter-state travel history to Mumbai.
Of the 1092 cases reported from the state, 36 are deaths, one is a non-COVID death and 496 discharges.
