Kalaburgi: Sitting MP and candidate from Bharatiya Janata Party for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, Shobha Karandlaje urged to file a case against the Kalaburagi Lok Sabha candidate from Congress Mallikarjun Kharge, here on Monday, May 13.

Addressing the media, she said, “I condemn the statement by Kharge asking if Congress gets more than 40 Lok Sabha seats at the Centre, whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would hang himself.”

Shobha said that Kharge had given out such a statement out of fear of losing the elections.

She said, “PM Modi will not hang himself at Vijay Chowk, but will yet again take oath as the prime minister of this country in the parliament.”

Slamming former chief minister and CLP leader Siddaramaiah, she said, “Siddaramaiah keeps blaming our party that we do not issue tickets to the candidates from backward classes but for his kind information. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is from the backward class. Let him explain what was his contribution towards the backward class when he was the chief minister. We do not want any recognition or certificate from Siddaramaiah”, she said.

Is this the respecting Constitution, asks Basangouda Patil Yatnal

Addressing the media, MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal questioned Kharge whether he had any respect towards the Indian Constitution.

He said, “He has spoken singularly about PM Modi. If he speaks in such a way, then how can we expect him to respect the Constitution? There is no concept of Congress prime minister and BJP prime minister. Prime minister is one for the country, irrespective of parties. Kharge must measure his words before speaking. It is not ethical on his part to speak so lowly about PM Modi.”

Meanwhile, he asked Kharge why hadn’t he become the chief minister of the state inspite of being a senior leader of Congress party.

Hitting at former chief minister Siddramaiah, Yatnal said, “People who are not originally from their party have become CM and still some of his supporters from the Congress are openly saying that he would definitely come to power once again. Why is that so?”

Kharge is already experiencing defeat: BSY

Reacting to Kharge’s statements on PM Modi, BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa said, “Kharge has already begun experiencing his defeat in the LS polls and that is the reason he is speaking so low about PM Modi. It has become a routine for the Congress leaders. They are under a false belief that they will achieve a milestone by criticising Modi.”
