Bay County, Florida: A school teacher wrote a slang term for an abusive word on the top of her student’s homework. Melinda Smith, from Florida, was shocked to see the remark written on her teenage son’s assignment.

The teacher of Rutherford High School had written “WTF is this?” along with “absolutely no credit”. Smith said that she was not angry about her son not getting the credit, instead, she was furious about the inappropriate language the teacher wrote to her student.

“Just seeing WTF what is this, you know, basically… is this there’s no credit, it wasn’t anything about not getting the credit, it was more so the language about what the writing to students, that was very inappropriate and not acceptable for a teacher whatsoever,” Smith told the WJHG.

Smith wanted the teacher to account for her actions. “I think for sure she needs to be reprimanded, I believe that something should be placed in her file.”

Coy Pilson, principal of the school, said that the authorities were taking necessary actions to deal with the incident. The name of the teacher was not revealed.

Pilson was quoted as saying, “Once we were notified, I notified district officials and our HR has been involved and they’re currently investigating the situation.” The teacher “was apologetic and it was a mistake on her part.”

The principal added, “When we make mistakes we try to correct those mistakes and move forward.”
