Indian family steals everything from Bali hotel room (including hangers), gets busted

Remember that episode in Friends when Ross gives a beginner’s lesson to Chandler on what one can steal from a hotel room?

In the episode, Ross and Chandler play it safe by taking ‘souvenirs’ that are safe: tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioners, comfy slippers and robes. But this Indian family on vacation in Bali took things to the next level by stealing everything from room, including blow dryers and hangers.

In a video that’s doing the rounds on social media, the family members are confronted by the hotel staff who open all their bags to check things that were stolen.

And the loot left them shook to the core!

In the video, a man who looks like the hotel manger can be heard threatening to call cops on them.

That’s when a woman can be heard pleading with them saying they are ready to pay the penalty and settle things. Then the man who seems to be her husband also jumps in and says, ‘We’ll pay.’ To this the hotel manager states loud and clear: ‘It’s not about money. I know you have a lot of money. This is about respect.’

But things don’t look all too well for the Indian family, as hotel staff were seething in anger and absolutely disgusted by the family’s behaviour.

The video has since gone viral online and many people have expressed anger over the family’s shameful act.

One user wrote, ‘They took hanger also, check all the bags they must have taken TV also, this is the reason people don’t respect us when we go outside country. And look how that is talking, if he has so much money he could have bought from market why steal. I am sure hotel people must have made them pay huge amount, they will remember their Bali trip rest of their life.’

Another wrote, ‘I am an Indian and I’m ashamed of these people. Kindly put them behind bars. Bringing shame to the whole country.’

For those unaware, hotels all around the world lose a few hundred dollars each month due to customer theft and many have the right to either call the cops or simply ask one to pay for the things that were stolen.
