The video was posted on various social media platforms by many accounts and it shows around seven lions roaming on the streets without any care in the world.

In the video, one can see the lions roaming freely on the road as the dogs on the streets can be heard barking loudly at them.

The incident took place on the Junagadh city road which is adjacent to the Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary. According to a report on Boom Live, the video was taken by a resident of Bharti Ashram of Bhavnath area in Junagadh.

Dr Sunil Kumar Berwal, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Junagadh, told News18 that “Lions often come out of the Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary and are found roaming on the roads near Girnar Taleti road as it’s close to the sanctuary in Junagadh. It’s a natural phenomenon here. This is a lions’ corridor and they come out during the night and return back to the wild.”

Junagadh town is located 100 km away from the commercial capital of the Saurashtra region in Gujarat. It is in close vicinity of Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to over 40 Asiatic lions.
