A 43-year-old man from Australia escaped death after his mobile phone saved him from a bow and arrow attack in rural New South Wales.
According to reports, the man had stopped his car at a driveway outside his Nimbin property when he noticed a man armed with an archery gear. Moments later, the man took his cellphone out to take a picture of the armed man who was ready to shoot an arrow.
The attacker allegedly shot an arrow at the man which pierced through his phone but, luckily, didn’t come in contact with his body. The force of the arrow was so intense, the phone hit the man’s chin, reported NSW police.
The force of the arrow caused a small cut on the man’s chin but missed any other body part as his smartphone shielded the impact.
“The man fired the arrow at the resident which pierced through the man’s mobile phone causing the phone to hit him in the chin. It left a small laceration that didn’t require medical treatment,” New South Wales Police wrote on Facebook
The attacker, identified as a 39-year-old local from Nimbin, was arrested on charges of armed assault and damage to property. However, he was granted conditional bail to appear in Lismore local court in April, reported Guardian.
NSW police later released pictures of the attack on social media that showed the shattered phone with an arrow through the display screen.
