Mangaluru: The Sgarottara Kannadigaru Forum will, as a part its Sagarottara Kannadigarondige Samvada (Discussion with Overseas Kannadigas) series, be hosting a dialogue with Seemant Kumar Singh (IPS), IGP, Central Range, Bengaluru. Kannadigas residing in more than 55 countries in the world are expected to participate., the Karnataka Focussed news website, the preferred news website of Kannadigas around the world will be live streaming the event at 10:30 am (USA) / 03:30 pm (UK) / 04:30 pm (Europe) / 06:30 pm (UAE) / 08:00 pm (India).

About Seemant Kumar Singh IPS

Highly acclaimed IPS officer, Singh served in Dakshina Kannada as Superintendent of Police and then as the first Police Commissioner of the City Police Commissionerate. He has also held the post of the DIG & Commander Of Anti Naxal Force (ANF).

During the Pandemic, he was very helpful to the thousands of migrant workers in Bengaluru during the lockdown. When his cellphone number turned out to be a helpline by accident, the kind-hearted police officer took the lead to serve the people with his dedicated colleagues and civil groups as well as corporates.

Seemant Kumar, who hails from Jharkhand, did his schooling in Ranchi and is a proud alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. An IPS officer of the 1996 batch, Singh was honored with President Medal for Meritorious Service on Republic Day in 2014. He attended Mid Career Training in the United Kingdom.

Chandrashekara Lingadalli (UAE), President of the Forum, Gopal Kulkarni (UK), Vice President, Hemegowda Madhu (Italy), Organising Secretary, Ravi Mahadeva (Saudi Arabia), Joint Secretary, Basava Patil (UK), Treasurer will coordinate the event.
