Bengaluru/Mangaluru: “It is coincidental that the ‘Body Sculpt – 2020’ edition fitness calendar has come out at a time when there is a lot of tension among different communities, political parties and organizations, who out of vested interests, are trying to bring in a rift in the secular fabric of the country by spreading false information without even understanding what exactly the law of the land means. I hope this year’s edition reaches out to the people and sends a strong message to those trying to spread hate in the name of religion, caste etc., that the people of the country are united,” said prominent fashion photographer and producer of ‘Body Sculpt’ fitness calendar, Nikos Narkissos.
Nikos, in this edition of his charity fitness calendar, has managed to amalgamate faces representing the various communities of India and Sri Lanka. The models in this year’s calendar have all created a benchmark for themselves through their hardships in life and dedication towards fitness. This time, there are around 22 models from different walks of life.
The theme for this year’s Body Sculpt – 2020 fitness calendar is “Mass with Class”.
Nikos says that the models representing his 2020 calendar are from metropolitan cities but hail from tier-three cities. He has made a sincere attempt to find models to represent the North East, Central India, Africa, Sri Lanka etc. apart from India, which, according to him, has not been the case in any other calendar.
The cover boys for this year’s calendar are Arjun Singh and Nikhil Watts.
Some of the models have made appearances in TV shows and YouTube channels, demonstrating fitness regimes, while some are regular people.
While all the models have achieved their life goals and are self-made people, some have shined at the national and international levels.
Models featured in ‘Body Sculpt – 2020
Arjun Singh
This 22-year-old hails from Tehri in Garwhal, Uttarkhand and is a winner of the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB) Elite Pro Card Winner. He has won a ‘Diamond Card’ in the field of bodybuilding and several other titles as well.
Nikhil Watts
He is a professional bodybuilder and coach from Punjab’s Abohar.
Hasse Tukuzu
A student from Kinshasha, Congo (Africa), living and studying in Bengaluru since almost a decade, Hasse is a winner of the title “Miss Democratic Republic of Congo Tourism and Culture Universe 2019”.
Ezazul Haque
A resident of Golaghat, Assam, Ezazul was a runner up of the National Amateur Body-Builders’ Association (NABBA) and World Fitness Federation (WFF) Asia Championship in 2019. According to Nikos, he is the first northeast/Assamese model to be featured in a fitness calendar.
Dr Ishaan Sharma
A dentist by profession, Ishaan is also a bodybuilder and coach. Ishaan is a perfect example of someone who has ‘brains and brawn’.
Lokesh Kumari
A Delhiite, Lokesh has featured in the Hindi television reality show “Bigg Boss” season 10 as a contestant, and is also an actress. The uniqueness of her appearance in the calendar is that she is draped a saree. This makes it one of the rarest attempts made in fitness calendar history, as women are generally seen in skimpy bikinis.
Shivashish Mishra
A businessman by profession, Shivashish has made his appearance in “Bigg Boss” season 12 (Hindi). According to Nikos, he is the first model to represent Central India in a fitness calendar.
Surendar Manickam
Hailing from a town called Bhavani in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu, Surendar lost his parents when he was just a toddler. He is a self-made man, who won the World Fitness Federation (WFF) “Mr India” runner up title. He also runs his own YouTube channel.
Ronnie Thakur
Originally from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, Ravi is a winner of the “Mr Tourism and Culture India 2019” title. He is an engineer by profession and works full-time. He has represented India in Myanmar’s “Mr India” contest.
Chamidu Udana
A Sri Lankan model representing the national capital Colombo, Chamidu won the “Mr Sri Lanka Manhunt 2018” title. He is also a winner of TV Derana’s Thathvika Season 2, which is an adventure reality show in Sri Lanka. He is now getting offers to act in movies.
Ankita Singh
Hailing from Lucknow, Ankita is based in Bengaluru and works as an engineer. She earned name and fame as a nutrition ambassador. She is the south zone head of Divine Nutrition and is the first fitness model to have designed her own bikinis. Nikos says that a lot of other models come to her to buy bikinis, which he says are unique. Ankita has represented India in several countries.
Kapil Kashyap
A self-made man and father of one child, Kapil, a Delhiite, is a fitness trainer by profession and has debuted in this fitness calendar. He is also a fitness model.
Abhishek Gowda
‘Kannadiga’ Abhishek, from Kodagu, is making his first-ever fitness calendar debut. He has won a Pro Card and has represented India in Thailand. Abhishek has participated in the Musclemania contest and won the runner up title. He has also won a Diamond Card.
Piyumal Pattuwearachchi
Piyumal is from Colombo, Sri Lanka and is a supermodel.
Sharon Rose
A Vizag girl, Sharon is a supermodel currently based in Europe.
Pratik Kumbhar
Pratik is from Ghansoli (Navi Mumbai), Maharashtra.
Javed Syed
Javed is a fitness model from ‘Aamchi’ Mumbai.
Ankit Singh
Ankit hails basically from Delhi and is a fitness model in Bengaluru. He is also a national-level boxer.
Abhijit Naik
Originally from Madgaon, Abhijit has won the “Mr Goa Men’s Physique Championship” seven times.
