Mangaluru: Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt – SSTH 2015 a joint venture of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management and Government of Karnataka Research Centre, Mangaluru was held on November 21 at the Sahyadri campus.
The zonal level competitions were held at 42 zonal centers in Karnataka and Kerala, covering over 200 PU Colleges. The events witnessed a good number of quality projects and models in all the zonal centers. The students participated with great spirit and enthusiasm. Prof Sudheer Shetty motivated the students to take up the project and research works and assured full support of Sahyadri in executing them.
The 3 prize winners from each competition of every institution participated in the level 2, a mega event, which was held on November 21. Around 1500 students participated in this event.
The event included project competition, still model competition and quiz competition. The final prizes included a total cash award of Rs 3 lakh, trophies and certificate. The participants also had the opportunity to interact with engineering students, faculty members and also witnessed a host of engineering projects.
Under the able guidance and initiative of Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Sahyadri Educational Institutions, the Talent hunt ignited the talents of young students both from urban and rural areas.
Dr K Byrappa, Vice Chancellor, Mangaluru University, Dharmendra Singh, Schneider Electric, Satyen Parikh, founder and CEO, Team Talent and Dr G Nagalingappa, Prof and Chief mentor, Silverrlininggedu were present as chief guests during the grand finale which was held on November 21.
Sahyadri Sceince Talent Hunt is being organised in nearly 200 institutions. For each zonal center, Sahyadri College will be spending a total amount of Rs 40000 which includes the prize money.
