Mumbai: Amid a widening probe into drug cartels that cater to celebrities, that began with a probe into the alleged suicide of Actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, Actor Deepika Padukone is being questioned at the Evelyn Guest House in Mumbai’s Colaba, where the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Special Investigation Team has set up a base.
Deepika Padukone was issued summons along with other Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, who will also be questioned today. However, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor are expected to be questioned at the NCB office in Ballard Estate. Deepika’s manager, Karishma Prakash is being questioned for a second day today. Ms Prakash’s questioning went on for much longer than actor Rakul Preet Singh’s, which lasted four hours, NTDV.com reports quoting sources.
The NCB questioned Rakul Preet Singh and Karishma Prakash about the contents of WhatsApp chat which allegedly indicated marijuana was bought for consumption.
Its not clear if the NCB is going after individual consumers or is trying to nab the kingpins in the drug dealing cartel. As of now, the actors have not been named as accused in any drugs probe case, and are only being questioned.
While reports say that Rhea Chakraborty named stars in connection with drugs use, her lawyer has denied this claim.
