Davangere: After the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition government is formed, every now and then, there are verbal wars between one or the other party leaders. Be it a cold war between former chief minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar, former minister A Manju and PWD Minister H D Revanna or MLAs Ramesh Jarkiholi and Lakshmi Hebbalkar, all have caused a breath deal of headache.
Now it’s between veteran Congress leader Shamanuru Shivashankarappa and Home Minister M B Patil.
It is said that Shivashankarappa had sent a message on whatsapp comparing M B Patil to ‘monkey’.
Reacting on this M B Patil, on Sunday, January 13 said that this shows the mean and cheap mentality of Shivashankarappa. He said that he had no Godfather like other politicians and that the Chairperson of Karnataka Lingayat Education Society Prabhakar Kore was helped by Shivashankarappa.
As a counter-reaction to this, Shivashankarappa has said that M B Patil was still a small boy and knew nothing about him.
He said that when there was a demand for “Lingayat” to be considered a separate religion from the past several year, no one had spoken and now coming in the forefront and speaking about it was not ethical.
He accepted that he had supported Prabhakar Kore and that everyone knew what he contributed towards the people of this state.
He refrained from reacting further on M B Patil’s statement.
