Davanagere: A team of 20 advocates from Davanagere have prepared 5,000 petitions against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and will be sending the same to the Supreme Court.
According to senior advocate Aneesh Pasha, these 5,000 petitions will be sent separately.
“These applications have been prepared by a team of 20 advocates. Petitions of 2,000 poor people will be sent by this team. The remaining 3,000 petitions will be sent by the individuals themselves. All the petitions have the names, address and mobile numbers of the petitioners,” he explained.
“This drive was taken up after a meeting. We are trying to create awareness against the CAA in this way,” he added.
