Mangaluru: In all 129 families of Mavinakatte of Kaliya Gram Panchayats and Sudemugeru under Belthangady taluk have been distributed food kits under the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project. The programme of distributing the essential food supply kit was carried out under the direction of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Shri Veerendra Heggade on Sunday May 16.
Project Officer Jayakar Shetty said that daily wagers are facing problem with basic food during this lockdown. Since the day of the sealdown upto 15 days it becomes difficult to get out, the food supply for 15 days is being provided, he added.
Under the leadership of Dr. H. L. Manjunath, Executive Director, Rural Development Project, 93 families of Sudemugeru and 36 families from Mavinakatte of Kaliya Gram Panchayats.
He said the food kit comprising rice and daily items were distributed.
To suffice for every taluk of the state, the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala has provided a total of 350 vehicles. In Belthangady there are two vehicles stationed. To eradicate Corona from the world everyone’s cooperation is essential. Let us all lend a helping hand to poor, he added.
During distribution of kits at Sudemugeru area Town Panchayat member Jagdish, SKDRDP Union President Sitharam R., Secretary Sumant, Service Representative Usha Pramod, Disaster Management Unit coordinators Jagannath and Hanif were present.
Project volunteers and Kaliya Union President Prakash Merla, Disaster Management Unit Coordinator Sachin and Ganesh were present.
