Mangaluru: Journalist Pradish Marody, reporter, sub-editor at Prajavani daily has been chosen for the prestigious 'Pa.Go' award for the year 2020, in rural reporting.
The Pa.Go Memorial Trust founded the award in memory of P Gopalakrishna, and it is presented annually by the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union (DKWJU).
The award is being presented for his article 'Kelutila Male Makkala Alalu' published in Prajavani on June 25, 2020.
Pradish Marody was chosen for the award by a selection committee that included Mangalore University SVP Kannada Study Center assistant professor Dr Dhanjay Kumble, researcher Dr Shivaram Karanth, Balavana special duty officer Dr Sundar Kenaje, and Mangalore University journalism department professor Dr Soumya KB Kikkeri.
Speaking to News Karnataka, Pradish said " I have a special interest in rural reporting. 'Kelutila Male Makkala Alalu' a story of a small village Katluru awarded with the prestigious 'Pa.Go' award for the year 2020. Such awards encourage the reporters to focus on rural and development journalism. I thank Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union for this honor."
Ibrahim Adkastala, general secretary of the Mangaluru Press Club informed that the PaGo award will be presented at Mangalore Press Club on March 30 at 11 a.m. The award will be presented by district in-charge minister Kota Shrinivas Poojary, and the event will be presided over by DKWJU president Srinivas Indaje.
