Indian Jain Milan branch opens in London

Mangaluru: Jainism is an ancient, unique as well as a rooted religion in India. It’s precepts, principles and living includes a simple diet and disciplined lifestyle, said Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade.

He was speaking after virtually inaugurating London branch of Bharatiya Jain Milan. Heggade asserted that the simplicity that Jainism cherishes has earned its respect in the society.

Heggade, who wished the best for the London Jain Milan branch and advised to hold a meeting once a month and appraise of experiences, service undertaken with good religious values. He also urged to unite community and strengthen the same. Give children right religious value and lay foundation for good society, he emphasised.

The right faith, knowledge and practice of elements and principles is the essence ofJainism, he said and added that by following ascetic way of life, the ascetics and shravakas following five vratas make life pious.

Heggade is the principal patron of the Bharatiya Jain Milan.

Charukirtipanditacharya Swamiji of Moodbidre Jain Matha who blessed the occasion, said that awareness of Jainism should be spread and with the influence of the tenets of religion and it’s principles, community should be unified.

Indian Jain Milan’s National Working President Surendra Kumar of Dharmasthala, infomed that there are 1375 Jain Milan branches across the world and they are serving different fields, efficiently. He aspired that world peace may be established through love and faith leading to cordial relationship with formation of London branch. 

Dayananda Patil furnished information regarding the digitisation of the idols. President of Mangalore Jain Milan, Pushparaja Jain wished assisted in new office-bearers’ swearing-in ceremony and also wished them luck. London Jain Milan President Dr Narendra Aladangady welcomed the gathering and Ashwini Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks.

National President of Jain Milan, Suresh Rituraj Jain, Hemavati V. Heggade, Anita Surendra Kumar, Shraddha Amit and Dr. Malavika were also present.
