Mangaluru: The farmer’s round table meeting was held here in Harekala on saturday June 3.
Speaking to News Karnataka Manohar Shetty, State secretary of Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha Hasiru Sene informed that the meeting was jointly conducted by Ardhanarishwara Krishi Sangha, Raita Sangha, the scientists of Krishi Vijyana Kendra, Kankanady and Krushi clinic.
Agriculture expert Dr. Naveen BT explained the process of cultivating Panchamakhi paddy breed. The head of the KVK and soil scientist Dr Mallikarjun gave the additional information and Lateesh from Canara Bank’s Amulya Saksharata Center informed about the central government’s plan related to agriculture.
Manohar Shetty said, “due to covid pandemic we have organised a small round table meeting with ten local farmers. Harekala, Pavuru, Mogaru have fertile lands for paddy cultivation. So, the seeds of Panchamakhi paddy breed were distributed to the farmers for cultivation.”
Former Panchayat President Dabbeli Mahabala Hegde chaired the meeting.
