Holalkere: In a rather innovative idea, Holalkere taluk Santhenahalli Booth-level Officer (BLO) N Basavaraj formed a Whatsapp group for voters to disseminated important information.
In his group- ‘Voters List GSH’, there are more than 300 voters as members. The group members can easily access information on various developments related to the Assembly election including the formation of voters’ list, adding new voters, cancellation of names, correction, change of
place, collecting the voters’ ID, correction of mistakes in voters ID etc.
“I have uploaded a pdf format of the voters’ list. With this, the members of the group can check whether their name is on the voters’ list or not,” Basavaraj said.
One of the members of this group said, “As I am studying Engineering in Shivamogga, I just sent all the documents needed to include my name in the voters’ list through Whatsapp group. That saved my money, time and energy.” Similarly, this helped many who live in faraway places and they have hailed the innovative idea.
