Chitradurga: Six people were killed and three seriously injured, when two speeding cars collided at Metikurke near Chitradurga on November 25.
A tyre blast in one of the cars is suspected to have led to the accident.
The tyres of Toyota Qualis heading towards Chitradurga from Bengaluru collided head-on against Maruti Ertigo coming in the opposite direction.
The police have identified the deceased as Praveen Devar Shetty (35), Soumya (30), Sharath (6), Pranika (3), Sagar (28), and Shivu Anwar (55).
The police said that except Shivu Anwar, all others were residents of Mathikere in Bengaluru. Shivu Anwar was the resident of Chitradurga town.
The injured Dhanur, Mansur and Shakil were given treatment at the Chitradurga Government Hospital and were then sent to a private hospital in Davanagere. Their condition is said to be critical.
Hiriyur rural police have registered a case and are investigating into the incident.
