Chitradurga: Molakalmur BJP MLA Thippeswamy’s supporters hurled stones at BJP candidate Sriramulu when he visited the constituency for election campaign here on April 13.
The situation turned ugly when the supporters of outgoing MLA Thippeswamy hurled stones, slippers towards Ramulu’s car, while he was visiting Tipperudra Swamy Temple in Nayakanakatte here. The women also vented out their anger against Ramulu by holding brooms.
The police resorted to lathi-charge to control the situation. The protesters demanded that Sriramulu withdraw from the contest.
Ramulu’s car was damaged in the incident.
