Chithradurga: In a bizarre ritual, a boy was paraded naked at a drought-hit village in Chitradurga district in Karnataka to please the rain god.
The incident took place on June 10 in a parched Pandarahalli village.
The boy was first poured with water, after which villagers performed pooja to an idol. The naked boy was then made to carry the idol in the village amid beating of drum by the villagers.
The boy was then given new clothes. The ritual, the locals say is a prevalent practice to appease the rain god.
