Chikkaballapura: Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar, on Saturday, September 12, slammed Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah for his claims that the BJP-led state government is misusing drug menace investigation.
It can be recalled that Siddaramaiah had accused he BJP government of diverting attention from the COVID-19 crisis by using the drug bust. He also accused the BJP of protecting its own leaders.
Speaking to the media after a Teachers’ Day celebration in Chikkaballapura, the minister asserted expressed that strict regulations must be introduced in the state to protect the youth from drug abuse. “Society will be affected if the youth are not protected and shown the right direction,” he said.
Sudhakar said that the successive governments have not done enough to curb the drug peddling in the state and that the state government will take action no matter how powerful the culprits are. “The BJP government will take action against those found guilty in the drug probe regardless of their financial status, community or religion,” he added.
