Chikkaballapura: Normal life in the Chikkaballapura district came to a halt when various organisations called for a district-wide bandh in protest of Deputy Commissioner Anirudh Shravan’s transfer. The bandh has been receiving a good response from women self-help groups, raitha sangha and other organisations.
Even private enterprises have closed down in support of the bandh call.
Anirudh Shravan served as the district’s DC for the past year. According to the bandh organisers, he was very approachable and worked towards resolving various issues like groundwater depletion, empowerment of women self-help groups etc. during his tenure.
