Chikkaballapura: Close on the heels of former DCM and senior leader of the party K S Eshwarappa’s statement that the BJP doesn’t require Muslim votes, party MP candidate from Chikkaballapura B N Bachchegowda has done the unthinkable. Gowda, a former minister in the B S Yeddyurappa government, released his election pamphlet in the Urdu language as well, to attract Muslim voters.
According to sources, Gowda, a former Janata Dal leader, joined the BJP after a difference of opinion with party supremo H D Deve Gowda. “He is very popular among members of all religions including the Muslims. In Chikkaballapura, Muslim votes are very crucial. To keep them happy, he released his pamphlet in Urdu also,” said a BJP leader.
