Chamarajnagar: Heavy downpour was reported from the Bandipur Tiger Reserve And National Park located in Gundlupet town on Monday, May 13 night.
Due to the heavy rains, the forest area which was charred by culprits in the month of February has come to life.
The rains lashed for more than an hour in the Melukamanahalli west region of Bandipur forest. As a result, the lower areas submerged in water.
The heavy gush of water not only flowed under large bridge near the Gaali Anjaneya Temple which is located between Hangal and Melukamanahalli and a small bridge near Hotel Bandipur Plaza, but also entered resorts, hotels, and plant nurseries creating panic among the people.
The force of the flowing water was such that it damaged several crops and in some places, the yields were washed away.
Flood-like situation was also witnessed in Gopalaswamy Hills the forest area. A huge crowd had gathered to watch the scene.
Even though minor damages have been reported due to heavy showers, the people have found relief from the scorching heat of summer.
