Chamarajanagar: Minister of primary and secondary education and District in-charge S. Suresh Kumar instructed the officials with the onset of summer, whether it is a rural area or urban make sure that there is no shortage of drinking water.
Speaking at a meeting of the District Task Force Committee on Water Supply at the DC’s office, he said, “Preventive measures should be taken to ensure continuous availability of drinking water during the summer.” He urged to take necessary measures to make sure the water should be available in sufficient quantity to the people and livestock.
The Minister in charge of responding to the action plan in each of the district’s constituencies demanded the immediate submission of a proposal detailing the amounts of grants and drinking water required for each village. He said that necessary action would be taken after discussing with the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. M. R. Ravi said that to the troubled villages of the taluk, which are not declared as drought-affected, funds have been released to provide clean drinking water during the summer season by providing tankers, and if necessary, the grant has been released to pay rent for private bore wells.
Suresh Kumar, said, “during summers, the most visited places like the offices and bus stands should have the proper facility of water supply. Clean drinking water units must be adequately functioning at such places, he noted. He said that the authorities had to carry out their duty diligently in this regard.
Any project, including Gangakalyana, should be sanctioned in the jurisdiction. The minister also suggested that other projects should not be delayed too
