Mangaluru: The Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and High Commission of the Republic of Rwanda in India signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, August 5, for the purpose of educational cooperation, extending health services and strengthening of the relationship between two countries in terms of health, education and skill development.
Ernest Rwamucyo, High Commissioner of Rwanda, Republic of Rwanda and Dr.Gangadhara Somayaji, Registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) signed the MoU during the visit of the delegation to the University in the presence of Farhaad Yenepoya, Pro Chancellor; Dr. M. Vijayakumar,Vice Chancellor, Dr.C.V.Raghuveer, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Arun Bhagwath, Dy. Director, QAC, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) were present along with the deans of the constituent colleges and the statutory officers of the University.
The delegation also included Dr. Senorita Isaac, Founder Chairperson, Human Achiever Foundation.
The purpose of this MoU is to enhance co-operation in medical education & research, health care services and skill development. The MoU also envisages training of doctors in advanced fellowships in super/subspecialties, capacity building and skill training through health technology programmes, free paediatric care, faculty and student exchange in health and allied sectors, and establishment of joint centres for excellence in research and training at Rwanda.
