Mangaluru: Yenepoya Dental College in association with Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, inaugurated ‘Tobacco Cessation Center’ on Friday, June 14, at the ground floor of the dental college at 10 AM. It is the first such center to be inaugurated in Dakshina Kannada District.
The Tobacco Cessation Center (TCC) was inaugurated by Dr. B H Sripathi Rao, Dean, Yenepoya Dental College, in presence of the Head of the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Dr L K Chatra, Dr Rachana Prabhu, in-charge and co-ordinator of the center and various heads of departments of Yenepoya University.
Dr B H Sripathi Rao in his inaugural address spoke about the importance of this initiative taken by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Yenepoya Dental College to help the students, patients and public in their attempt to quit the habits.
This inauguration was followed by a meeting which was attended by TCC committee members and various heads of department of Yenepoya dental college and medical college, and social workers to discuss regarding the functioning of the centre.
