Vikaas PU College organises career guidance prog

Mangaluru: The ‘Vikaas Career Guidance Programme-2019’ was organised by Vikaas Pre-University College on its campus in Mangaluru on November 8.

Former St Aloysius College Vice-Principal and Institute for Individual Development (Mangaluru) Director Ronald Pinto inaugurated the programme.

In his inaugural address, Pinto touched a personal chord and said that students’ determination against all odds is what matters in order to achieve their goals. He also pointed out that there are plenty of career opportunities other than medical and engineering careers.

Addressing the gathering, Vikaas PU College Principal Dr Suneel BM observed that students are not generally sure of what to do after their pre-university course and it’s because of their lack of awareness about their own capacities. He said the forthcoming sessions would help them in solving this predicament.

Vikaas Group of Institutions Coordinator Parthasarathi Palemar, Dean Dr. Manjula A. Rao, Academic Director T. Rajaram Rao, Vikaas First Grade College Principal Ayshwarya K., and others were present.

The programme further continued with sessions on various courses and professions handled by experts from the respective fields. The chief guest, Ronald Pinto himself delivered a session on Degree Courses (BSc and MSc), Exams for Government employment and CLAT as well as Interior and Fashion Designing.

The session on Engineering and the NATA Exam was delivered by Abhijnya Education Pvt Ltd Managing Director Abhilash which was followed by a motivational talk on personality development. Wisdom Education Academy Co-founder Dr. Guru Tej took the students through ‘Global Career’.

College of Fisheries (Mangaluru) Aquatic Biology Professor Dr. Shivakumar Magada enlightened the students in agricultural and allied courses. KMC (Mangaluru) Associate Dean Dr. Unnikrishnan handled the session on medical entrance exams. Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital HOD
Dr. Shivaprasad spoke on Homeopathy and AYUSH.

Vikaas College of Physiotherapy Assistant Professor Dr. Sunjyoth H. S. guided students regarding the promising prospects of physiotherapy courses.

KNDC LLP & Associates CA Vindya V Hegde elaborated on the scope and opportunities that come with the company secretary course as well as the career of a chartered accountant. Service Industry professional Rashmi threw light on the opportunities and scope of aviation courses. Amity Education Group Career Counsellor Cedric Coutinho delivered a lecture on stress management, time management, and leadership development.

Physics Department lecturer Shruthi Kishor, Commerce Department lecturer Deepika Shetty, and English Department lecturer Rakshitha Uchil hosted the inaugural ceremony for the science and commerce sessions respectively.

Students of Vikaas PU College participated in the programme with great enthusiasm which widened their understanding of the prospects of their careers.
