Mangaluru: Vikaas College of Physiotherapy celebrated World Physiotherapy Day on Monday, Sept 9th at its campus.
A Symposium was conducted by the students. Mr. Parthasarathi J Palemar, Coordinator, Vikaas Group of Colleges, Dr. Ajay Thakur, Principal, Vikaas college of Physiotherapy, Faculty and BPT students were present for the program.
Dr. Rakesh Krishna Associate professor, Vikaas College of Physiotherapy, welcomed the gathering and outlined the program. Dr. Ajay Thakur explained the role of the physiotherapist in society. Ms. Pratiksha Hegde, Intern, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy and Ms. Flavia, Final year BPT student from Srinivas College of Physiotherapy, represented the students at the podium – they spoke on the theme ‘World without Physiotherapists’
Second-year BPT students of Vikaas college of physiotherapy, Ms. Jayashri, Ms. Sanjana, Mr. Hrishikesh performed a skit on the importance of Physiotherapy. A Certificate and Cash award of Rs. 2000 was presented to Ms.Pratiksha Hegde, by Mr.Parthasarathi Palemar and Dr. Ajay Thakur, along with a certificate. Ms. Flavia was presented with a cash award of 1000 rupees as a token of gratitude. Dr. Rakesh Krishna delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with lunch.
