St Joseph Engineering College comes together to support Human Chain mission of SVEEP

Mangaluru: The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Division of DK district organized an electoral awareness Human Chain from Talapady beach to Sasihitlu beach on 7th April 2019. Student members of Electoral Literacy Club (ELC), AICUF, NSS and many students from St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, participated in this event.

Mr Sudheer, Panchayath Development Officer (PDO) of Neermarga, was assigned the responsibility of leading SJEC students in Chitrapura-Hosabettu cross beach which was the location assigned to SJEC by SVEEP Division. The programme began with Mr Sudheer addressing the students on importance of voting in the democracy. He insisted the students to bring awareness about voting among the common people in their native places and surroundings. He also led the students to take voters pledge.

Around 200 students participated in the event as SJEC showed its solidarity in supporting the efforts of district administration in spreading the electoral awareness. Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC, Dr Sudheer M, Dean- Student Welfare of SJEC, Dr Prakash Pinto, Dr Vincent Crasta, Dr Ramananda HS, Mr Sathyenda Bhat and Mr Vinoothan Kaliveer from SJEC were present and participated in the event.
