St. Aloysius College Undergrads hold interactive session on new traffic rules

Mangaluru: As a part of their academic curriculum, students of the IIIrd BA Journalism course of St Aloysius College organized an awareness cum interactive session on the recent Amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act. The programme was held on Saturday between 1.30PM to 3.30PM at the College’s Sanidhya hall.

The event began with a prayer song sung by Rachel Furtado. Iola Quadros welcomed the gathering.

The Chief Guest for the day Mr. Gopalkrishna Bhat Sub Inspector Kadri traffic station in his address to the students enlightened them about the new Amendments in the Motor Vehicles Act and highlighted the need for Safety awareness. He also clarified doubts of the youngsters on road ethics. “People spreading wrong information about the amendments; there are good things in the Amendments which need to be focused”, he added.

Adarsh PA student of 3rd BA Journalism delivered a talk on road safety ethics. The Head Constable of Kadri traffic police station Mr Niranjan also addressed the students. He urged them to begin the revolution of road safety from their homes.

He told the students to follow road rules, wear the necessary road gear such as helmets and safety belts, not only for the sake of rules but also for their own safety. These safety measures could help lessen the impact on the body, he said. He also called upon the students to spread the good word among their near and dear ones.

The vote of thanks was rendered by Aiyappa MK Student of 3rd BA Journalism. The event was compered by Vipin Varghese. The programme student co-ordinator Kiran Kumar and Head Constable of Kadri Police Station Mr. Basher were also present at the event.
