Mangaluru: St Agnes College organised a workshop on ‘Preparing for Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC’ at the college’s conference hall, Sophia Block from October 18 to October 19.
The workshop was organised under the ‘Paramarsh-UGC Scheme for Mentoring NAAC Accreditation Aspirant Institutions to Promote Quality Assurance in Higher Education’.
The basic objective of the workshop was to provide expert guidance to the mentee colleges in preparing for the NAAC accreditation and to clarify their doubts as well. Registration for the workshop was done from 9 am to 9:30 am followed by the inaugural programme.
Stella Maris College (Chennai) former Professor and Xavier Board Programme Co-ordinator Dr Odetta Hanna formally inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp.
Joint Secretary Dr Maria Roopa A.C. welcomed the gathering and College Administrator Sr. Carmel Rita A.C. delivered the introductory message. An overview of the workshop was presented by IQAC Co-ordinator Dr Ita Gonsalves while BBA Department Lecturer Neethu compered the programme.
A total of 35 participants from St Agnes College ( the mentor college), and 52 participants (principals, IQAC co-ordinators, Parameter Heads and Senior Staff members) of six mentee colleges namely, Paduva College of Commerce and Management, Mangaluru, Carmel College, Modankap, Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru, and three Government First Grade Colleges from Kavoor, Punjalakatte, Mudipu attended the workshop.
