NITK to host National Symposium on ‘Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control

Mangaluru: The Department of Chemical Engineering at NITK Surathkal is organizing a National Symposium on Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control: Future Perspective (EPPC: FP-2019) from 23 – 25, August 2019 as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute in association with Ministry of Environment ,Forests and Climate Change; Central Pollution Control Board and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.

The event is being inaugurated on 23rd August 2019 by Dr. N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University. The inaugural programme would be graced by Prof P N Singh, Former Director of NITK Surathkal; Prof. Balaveera Reddy, Chairperson, Board of Governors, NITK and presided by Prof. Umamaheshwar Rao, Director, NITK Surathkal. More than 250 delegates from academia, industry, research organizations and Governmental organizations are expected to attend the event.

Keynote lectures by eminent personalities in the field, Technical paper presentations by delegates., Presentations of novel ideas on the theme ‘Sustainable solutions for Environmental Challenges’ by Research scholars/PG students, Model/Poster competitions by school children on the theme ‘Wealth from Waste’; Industrial Exhibition are being conducted during the symposium..

A Panel Discussion on the theme “Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control: Policies and Regulations” will also be held as a part of the Symposium.

The closing ceremony of the event will be held on 25th August 2019 and will be graced by Sri Prabhakar Rao, Director Works, MCF Ltd.
